There is a new kid on the block and they are to be found in Seven Dials which has transformed completely in 2014 to become a hub of eclectic businesses and fast becoming a destination both for day and night. Therefore the new addition of Coggins & Co which has been opened by a local business man Andrew Coggins who previously owned and developed the renowned Preston Park Tavern as well as an exceptional career within the hospitality industry. This is obvious the moment you enter the restaurant as Andrew welcomed us, gave the menus and asked if we would like a drink. This in my book is good service. Andrew then returned to offer advice on the menu and to add recommendations. We decided on 3 different burgers, mine being the 6oz burger with barbeque sauce, applewood smoked cheddar, sauerkraut & salad and I was given the option for my triple cooked chips to be cooked in beef dripping – yes please. Beautifully presented on a wooden board. Now all I had to do is sink my teeth into this handful of a burger, good meaty texture and seasoned. There is an option for gluten free baps and all the burgers are gluten free regardless. Our drinks were a mixture of freshly made milkshakes and a soft drink in a jam jar with handles. The food experience was a positive one and in addition the actual restaurant has been well thought through, that another story so for now take a trip up to seven dials.
