Live Kathak Dance Performance by Amina Khayyam
Through the elegant and mesmeric storytelling dance of Kathak, Amina Khayyam brings to life the Ragamala exhibition at Brighton Museum. Amina is renowned for her intense expression of the beautiful north Indian classical dance form, which is appreciated as much for movement as complex rhythmic patterns.  As the Ragamala exhibition portrays images describing the variety of moods in Indian musical ragas, Amina will portray stories and images through dance.
Amina has studied Kathak in UK and has been performing professionally since 2001 in UK, Europe and India. She is a leading proponent of kathak dance theatre, being part of the creation of new work such as “Find me among the Black” and having created herself “Laal Shaari” and most recently “One” and “Yerma” which will be touring in Autumn 2012.
